Understanding user types

Kronodoc distinguishes several user types who have different sets of rights. The rights of each type are described in the following table.

Kronodoc user types
User Type Description

Administrator and Privileged User

The workspace and system administrator and privileged workspace users have unlimited access to documents and folders within a workspace and can configure workspace-wide settings. System administrators have additional rights to configure installation-wide settings.

Group user

A group user's access rights depend on the access control profile that is set for individual folders and documents or a set of roles. If a user belongs to multiple groups, the access rights will be a combination of the rights granted to all of the groups.

Owner

The owner is the creator of a document or a folder. Owners usually have more access rights than other group users. Owner rights are specified separately.

Others (Guests)

Guest users are users who have accessed a workspace with a guest login name or who have their own logon name but have no group memberships inside the workspace. Other (guest) rights can be specified separately.

You can identify which user groups you belong to in the menu that appears when you click your name in the tabs strip as described in Understanding the user interface.
